Our experience with K&D went beyond our expectations. Before choosing K&D, multiple landscapers offered us vague and unclear descriptions of what our yard could look like. Liz and her K&D design team took the time to develop a masterplan which really reflected our vision. The K&D team is expansive, with experts in every area, from estimating to project management, hardscaping to planting. They really have an eye for detail and stayed true to their word. Work was completed on time and on budget, without any surprises or drama. Super professional and reliable. We couldn't happier.

Can't say enough good things about the folks at K&D! Darlene helped us design a pollinator garden and Josh and his folks installed the plants, reenforced a rock wall and addressed some irrigation issues we had. Work was professional and completed in a timely manner. Many thanks!

K&D graciously offered to donate a "mini-restoration" for our Watsonville animal shelter location. It turned out beautifully! They helped fix up our irrigation system, planted some drought resistant plants and spread mulch. For an organization that relies heavily on volunteers, this contribution from K&D was incredibly helpful and greatly improved our Shelter's landscape. During the process the staff was kind, accommodating and understanding of our needs. Our Shelter looks amazing and we appreciate all of the help from K&D landscaping- THANK YOU!

I had the pleasure of working with K&D Landscaping on a 1 million square foot Amazon facility ground up project that I managed in Hollister, CA. As a general contractor you don't take it for granted when you have a subcontractor that communicates/responds expeditiously, is solution oriented, and completes their scope of work with little-to-no hiccups along the way as K&D did on this project.

Having been involved in the construction industry for almost 40 years, I can count on one hand the number of contractors that are not only a pleasure to work with but also meet or exceed all expectations. K&D is one of them. Without question, K&D Landscaping is first in their class in all phases of landscape design, installations, maintenance or repairs. K&D takes pride in their vehicles, equipment, promptness and professionalism which is a testament as how to run a successful business with repeat customers. I look forward to my next project with K&D.

K&D did a complete front and back yard for us. Jeremy Ross was our project manager. The end result is a resort quality space, complete with an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, drought tolerant plants, a paver driveway, several pacer patios, and a beautiful Ipe deck. The entire project was delivered on time, and on budget. I have, and will continue to recommend Jeremy and K&D landscaping to all my friends and family.

Everything about our experience with K&D was top notch. We got more than one estimate and others were lower, but K&D was the most responsive and professional by far, so we went with them. Kendal and the rest of the team proved to be real pros, and when all was said and done the final invoice was way lower than K&D's initial bid, and lower than anyone else's! We live on a hillside and had significant water erosion issues. K&D offered a great solution, but the hill wouldn't allow for heavy equipment so the team had to dig and haul everything by hand. Very difficult work. Nevertheless, the all worked efficiently and effectively. The work took place along the property line, and the guys made sure my neighbor was informed and involved with any work that could impact his property. The team was well supervised, always on time, always polite and responsive, never cut corners, kept the place clean, and they finished the project in less than the amount of time they estimated. And, ultimately, the finished product looks fantastic! We look forward to working with K&D again.

I am the onsite manager for a fairly large homeowners association, and we have a lot of mature landscaping, as well as some recent installations. Eleazar Gonzales, and Jesus Ontiveros, who take care of the property, are two of the hardest working landscaping maintenance guys that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are friendly, fast, with attention to detail, and take excellent care of everything. I highly recommend K&D Landscaping for new installations, landscape maintenance, irrigation maintenance, and water conservation programs. Truly a one stop shop for all of your landscaping needs.

We are not customers but a neighbor across the street in New Monterey recently was. Hector, Chivo and Happo were consistently friendly, polite and respectful when interacting with all of us. Unlike many contractors and their employees, your crew left the work site and the street absolutely clean and stowed away after every single work day. No lunch litter, no construction debris, no loud music. We've talked to your customer and they and all of us are very satisfied with the high quality of your work. It looks great! You've got a great crew here! And of course, this is the best advertising that you can do for your company. I'm positive you'll pick up jobs on our street when people need work done. Congratulations and thanks to Hector, his crew and your company. Keep up the good work! Darlene and David Jones, New Monterey.

I had K&D landscape the back yard based on a design from an architect. It required demolition, building sonoma walls, gravel pathway/stairs, irrigation system, etc. Along the way had to tweak the design and they were amendable to it and finished it in the ball park timeframe. Special thanks to Rudy Prado who scoped the project and Jason Paskus our site project manager who saw through the project e2e.

He was super knowledgeable and we thoroughly trusted him and his team to get the job done. We also appreciate our designer, Liz Ryan, continuing to support us through the execution phase. We hired K&D Landscaping for a backyard renovation project. From the start they were very professional from bidding that started with Rudy estimating the project, to excellent project management with Jason who was always available to discuss any questions we had on the phone or come to the site. Jason was very professional, listened to our ideas and concerns, and offered options backed up by timely add alternate pricing. Our onsite crew Juan, and Hapo led by led by Hector the foreman are an excellent team. They kept our project on schedule and did amazing work. They always showed up to work on time and worked very hard all day. Hector checked in with us anytime they had a question regarding our vision and also had solutions to issues that arose during the rebuild. They also took extra steps to ensure the project was protected when the first big rains of the year came. They always kept a very clean worksite at the end of the day. Hector and crew were also very polite and professional. Our neighbors were very happy with how the site was maintained and were also impressed by the outcome. We are so happy with how the project has turned out and we definitely recommend using K&D Landscaping and requesting Hector and his crew.

K&D did an amazing job with a home we purchased last year in Adult Village. It was in sore shape before the storms hit last winter, then came torrential rains and heavy winds. The place was a mess. Working with Darlene, together we came up with a plan that fit the budget and made the entire outside (almost) maintenance free. A new fence, irrigation where it had never existed, trees that will stay green year round….I am one grateful, happy customer!

K&D Landscaping is the company to hire if you want top notch landscaping and design work by experienced professionals with a passion for excellence. After researching our options, we hired K&D to transform our water-thirsty lawns to gorgeous drought tolerant water-wise landscape and couldn’t be happier! From initial consultation to final implementation the transformation was seamless and well-coordinated. Project manager Brian Gates communicated with us every step of the way. His subject matter expertise, dedication to customer service and follow though were remarkable. Kendel White’s creative ideas truly elevated the project and the result was beyond our expectations. The team was always on time, hard working, and conscientious. They swept up at the end of each day and made sure our gates were locked before leaving. Our beautiful new drought tolerant landscape uses a fraction of the water while providing us with a lovely peaceful environment. We wholeheartedly recommend K and D Landscaping to anyone in need of quality landscaping and design services!

Our front lawn was a complete mess (gophers despite a great gopher guy; "grass" was mostly weeds; irrigation created many dry areas and also "too wet" spots; the lawn was way too big and the railroad tie borders were very unsightly. Most of the plants in the beds bordering the lawn were very over-grown and the wild African daisy ground cover had also over-run into the beds and regularly tried to take over the lawn as well. We got a few bids and decided to go with K&D based mostly on the size and expertise of the crew and equipment they have. It would have been a very hard job a smaller firm and at least one such firm said it was too much of a stretch for them. K&D was the most expensive but I'm glad we made the decision to work with them. Our lawn is now truly beautiful with a nice concrete border and a large well-mulched set of bordering beds. There are no RR ties left to be seen although some of them are still there. (Weed fabric and heavy mulching extended the borders and is helping keep the African Daisy in the wild meadow and not in beds/lawn.) As with any large and relatively complex job, there were some issues that came up but they were resolved satisfactorily. With all the rain this Winter and Spring, the new plants/trees haven't grown much so it's hard to say how well they will look and do. They need to get through at least this growing season before I can assess them. Overall, you won't go wrong with K&D. I recommend asking alot of questions and writing down the answers. A mistake I made was not understanding where all the valve boxes would go; once placed, it's way too expensive to fix. So we ended up putting mulch over the boxes to hide them. And we needed to change the planting design & add more at the very last minute which was OK and turned out better than the original design in any event.

Review of Residential work in Santa Cruz, 2021. New lawn, irrigation, landscape design, installation of plants and trees, and stone work. The end to end experience from Jeremy and the team at K&D was top notch. Jeremy engaged with us early and we worked through the plan and schedule for the upcoming project. Note: Jeremy was very busy and booked months in advance but set aside the time to get us scheduled and start the process. Shortly after getting the initial plan together, Jeremy connected us with the landscape designer to convert the vision into a plan. Liz (Wildflower Landscape I believe) was amazing to work with as well. Once the work started, Jeremy and Josh put a very skilled and attentive team on the project. The team was flexible in working through a few open items and unplanned changes to ensure we were happy customers. Josh was on top of it and Jeremy was available via text/call when needed. The stonework quality is phenomenal. We get many compliments from visitors and love using the outside space as an extension of our home. Many thanks Jeremy and team! Worth every penny.

We wanted to remove our unhealthy, weedy front lawn at our home in Santa Cruz. We were looking for a contractor that could do the very hard labor of excavating and preparing the space for a future low water landscape. Darlene, Eduardo and the rest of the fantastic crew at K&D did a great job completing this project for us. They were flexible and accommodating - working with us on an add-on walkway once the work was already underway and a last minute change of material to be used in the beautiful flagstone pathways they set. The crew was prompt, friendly and extremely conscientious. As another reviewer noted, their thorough clean-up at the end of each day was greatly appreciated. Being a street front property, they were also very mindful of our neighbors with regards to parking, traffic, etc. I know our project was small compared to their others but you would never know by their attentiveness and responsiveness. We’re already looking forward to working with them again as they help us tackle our back yard!

Our HOA came to K & D with a design for new xeriscape at our clubhouse. We hired K & D for installation and yesterday the job was completed, on time and done well. It is beautiful, not only my opinion, but many of our 122 residents have commented on the efficient process. Alejandro, Jose, and Leo worked very hard and were professional in all the interactions. When we ran into a problem, both Raphael and Jeremy were quick to find a solution. Our team here at the park particularly appreciated the flexibility and input we were allowed in modifying our design as was needed as the install unfolded. Thanks, Kendel, for a job well done!

Originally, the idea to install new landscaping at the entrance to Hidden Beach County Park was brought to my attention a year ago. When we were ready to initiate the landscaping project, I reached back out to K&D Landscaping’s Community Beautification Project Coordinator. Darlene was our project lead; Darlene was always friendly and helpful as we decided the best location and plants to install at the entrance to the park, which would complement the playground replacement project ribbon cutting. The installation staff was courteous and efficient in their work and the plant selection looks incredible. The park visitors to the new playground are awarded a newly landscaped park entrance thanks to K&D Landscaping’s generosity!

My husband and I are extremely pleased with KD Landscaping. We worked closely with Darlene to transform our dying front, side and back lawns and yards into warm little sanctuaries. She understood our vision and gave some very helpful suggestions as well. Eduardo and his crew came each day like clockwork and were so friendly and professional. We were amazed at how hard everyone worked and how spotlessly clean they left everything at the end of each day. Now our yards have been completely transformed into areas we can relax in. They are just beautiful. From beginning to end this has been a great experience and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of experience with their own landscaping project.

K&D Landscaping provided the landscaping for our major remodel. We reached out to several landscaping contractors before deciding to work with K&D. What sold us on their company was 1) their company core values, 2) the responsiveness and professionalism of our estimate POC, and 3) customer feedback from others who had work done by K&D. No major landscape project is without it's challenges. What we most valued about our experience with K&D was the respect and professionalism they brought to the problem solving process when we encountered those challenges/issues. We always felt they respected our point of view and vision for the project. In addition, their crew were also respectful, professional, and competent. That says a lot about how a company is run. Finally, we LOVE how the landscaping turned out. We highly recommend K&D landscaping and would definitely reach out to them for any of our future landscaping projects.

These guys are very conscientious and do high quality work. The whole team is nice too! They are very good with communicating, which was critical during our job. During our job we had an evacuation due to the fires, 2 multiday power outages thanks to PGE and our own neighborhood had an an unexpected water outage. They worked with us to reschedule every time. We had a designer do the overall plan but K&D contributed many good ideas to executing the details of the plan. If your situation is not complicated they probably can do the design themselves. We have received multiple compliments from our neighbors. Highly recommend!

K&D Landscaping is an awesome company to work with. I have been a supplier of theirs for about 20 yrs. They have always been a pleasure to work with and has been great seeing their projects take shape with the materials I have supplied to them. They have always been very on top of things in respect to giving me plenty of time to acquire the things that they need for their jobs. If I owned a home and needed any landscaping, deck, or fence work they would be my first call for sure!!

I am the Vice President of our HOA and also the person responsible for the contract for landscape maintenance. When it was decided to bid out our association I called K&D. Within the week Jeff and I walked the association and he came back with a proposal for our HOA. It was by far the best decision our HOA has made. Our common grounds have NEVER looked better. The homeowners always tell me how happy they are with K&D’s service. And several times homeowners have called me just to tell me how nice the team is. If we have an emergency they are always out the same day. I can’t express enough how professional and courteous this company is. Michelle R Suval

I don’t usually write reviews but Shane White and the entire K and D team has far exceeded all expectations for a landscaping company. From the front office to the hard working landscapers they will make sure your project shines above others. Professionalism and timely response along with thoughtful water conserving design are just a few of the many terms I would describe this excellent landscape company. 5 stars all the way. Thanks for making my home look amazing. Rob M

I can't say enough about K & D Landscaping and their entire team. We are an upscale winery that hosts hundreds of people everyday and has over 100 wedding and events annually. So, needless to say, our property has to remain immaculate year round, day in and day out. We switched to K& D a couple years back and the quality and price are completely unmatched in the industry. They maintain incredibly competitive pricing, while over delivering on quality of service. The team is friendly and responsive and when something comes up, they have a team member on site that day. Whether its and irrigation leak, a weekend mow or just a simple upkeep issue that arises, they are there in an instant. I would highly recommend K & D for your commercial or residential maintenance an installation, a 5 star company that deserves the 5 star rating. Thanks K&D from the entire Clos LaChance staff.

K and D did a beautiful redo of our backyard including: a new patio, cement garden walls, new garden beds, landscaping and planting, building a wooden pergola. Josh was always responsive to our requests and changes. Workers always arrived on time, worked hard and thourougly cleaned up every day. They were also a joy to have around and were missed when the job was over! The workmanship was top quality! Once the job was completed there were a few things that needed changing and redoing. Josh and the crew came back and completed everything to our satisfaction with no extra charge. I have called on Josh a couple of times since then for things regarding the yard and he has responded immediately! K and D certainly stands behind their work! I would happily recommend this company!

This past September (2017) we hosted my son’s wedding at our home. Of course we wanted it to be perfect for the couple, so we decided to overhaul our upper garden and install some hardscape features in our courtyard, where the reception was to be held. The upper garden was a hot mess of overgrown weeds and brambles, scattered rocks and a horrid shrub/tree that I was severely allergic to. I had contracted with K&D before on a small project, so decided to use them for this large redo. I worked w/ Shane on the design, which included a clean scrape of the existing space (except for a couple trees), leveling, debris removal, lighting, hardscape, and new plants/groundcover. Once we started work, his crew executed my vision flawlessly. Even when we had to do some off the cuff design modifications because of lighting placement issues, it was solved quickly, without impacting our finish date. In the courtyard, we replaced grass with flagstone, removed a three tier fountain, and installed a stone mosaic compass rose as the centerpiece. Josh and his hardscape crew were fabulous, making thoughtful design suggestions that really improved the flow of the new elements into my existing brick courtyard. Professional, responsive, deadline-oriented and respectful. I couldn’t be happier with the K&D Landscape team and will definitely be using them again for future projects.

K&D Landscaping is an unbelievable organization! A tribute to the Watsonville community! They donated time and resources and dedicated workers, Francisco, Javier and Martin, to help us finish our school garden project dedicated to our late teacher Louis Lafortune. K&D operator/owners Kelsie and Shane were generous, helpful and delivered. Any individual or organization would do well contracting and working with K&D Landscaping.

The Team at K & D is fantastic! Customer Service is their #1 attribute. Can't say enough from my first interaction with their team on developing an accurate estimate to completion of the job in a professional manner, just outstanding! We have utilized there services at our home for years and a special call out to Manny, Armando and Juan as they provided not just landscaping services but provided valuable plant nutrition ideas to help our existing landscape grow vs. replacing.
